Digital Marketing
Agency in Siliguri

Siliguri's population of around five lakh badly understates its market. It is the only land route into Sikkim and the eight northeastern states — the Chicken's Neck corridor, at its narrowest barely twenty kilometres wide — which gives it a daily commercial catchment in the tens of millions across four countries. Media planning based on the city population underfunds this market by an order of magnitude.

(01) — The Siliguri market

A corridor, not a city

Everything bound for Sikkim, the Northeast, Bhutan and eastern Nepal passes through here. Khalpara consolidates food grains, edible oil, FMCG and hardware for onward distribution; the Regulated Market Complex handles agricultural transshipment; New Jalpaiguri and Bagdogra are the rail and air gateways for the entire region.

That makes Siliguri a B2B town before it is a B2C one. The highest-value audience is distributors, transporters, tea brokers and wholesalers rather than retail consumers, and almost every national FMCG, pharma and consumer-durables brand routes its Northeast supply through this city.

Cross-border trade adds another layer. Panitanki handles Nepal, Jaigaon and Phuentsholing handle Bhutan, and Fulbari connects to Bangladesh and carries Bhutanese transit cargo, with stone, machinery, rice, wheat and maize among the exports. It is one of the few genuinely international trading markets in eastern India.

The tea trade, and a market that is quieter than its reputation

West Bengal produced 373.48 million kg of tea in 2024 against an all-India total of 1,284.78 million kg, with the Dooars at 209.43 million kg, the Terai at 158.45 and Darjeeling at 5.60 — all three growing regions in Siliguri's immediate hinterland and routed through it.

The Siliguri Tea Auction Centre opened in 1976 and became the world's largest CTC tea-selling centre by 1982, with roughly 30,000 people employed directly or indirectly in tea trading here. It is a genuine industry, though worth noting that no current-year auction volume is published in an accessible official source — figures quoted in press coverage should be treated with caution.

For marketing purposes the tea trade behaves like the rest of Siliguri's commerce: relationships, brokers and long-standing accounts, with digital establishing credibility rather than generating transactions. The exception is direct-to-consumer tea brands, which are a genuine and under-exploited opportunity from this city.

Transit tourism and four working languages

Siliguri is the mandatory transit point for Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Sikkim, the Dooars and Bhutan, which produces a large hotel, car rental, tour operator and permit economy. But the revenue is overwhelmingly transit revenue — people sleep one night and leave — which rewards last-minute, mobile-first, intent-based advertising over brand building.

Healthcare works the opposite way. A substantial private hospital cluster serves Sikkim, Bhutan, Nepal and the Dooars, where tertiary care is scarce, and those patients plan ahead and travel deliberately. That is a considered-purchase market with a genuinely international catchment.

And the language mix matters. Nepali is a major working language alongside Bengali and Hindi, and a meaningful share of retail and medical customers are Bhutanese and Nepali nationals. Bengali-only creative misses a large slice of the market — and treating Siliguri as a North Bengal town alongside Malda or Murshidabad is a category error, because commercially it faces the hills and the Northeast.

Sevoke Road

The main modern commercial corridor — showrooms, hotels, restaurants and the malls towards Matigara.

Hill Cart Road

The historic spine running to the hills, with banks, hotels and transport offices.

Bidhan Market

The central retail and fresh-produce market and the city's traditional shopping heart.

Khalpara

The wholesale quarter — food grains, edible oil, FMCG and hardware consolidated for the Northeast.

Regulated Market Complex

The wholesale fruit, vegetable and agricultural commodity yard and a major transshipment point.

Matigara

The mall, auto-dealership and organised retail belt on the highways, with an education cluster alongside.

Hotels, transport and travel agencies in the tourist gateway zone near the bus stand.

Salugara & Champasari

Warehousing, logistics depots and transporters, with expanding residential development.

New Jalpaiguri & Bagdogra

(04) — Budgets

What it costs to compete in Siliguri

Budget against the corridor, not the city. The catchment spans four countries and a population many times the municipal one.

₹50,000–₹1,50,000 a month, targeted at Kolkata, Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai, with heavy season weighting.

Healthcare & diagnostics

₹40,000–₹1,20,000 a month across Sikkim, the Dooars, Nepal and Bhutan — a considered-purchase, international catchment.

Distribution & logistics B2B

₹30,000–₹80,000 a month, aimed at brands and 3PLs planning Northeast supply rather than at local buyers.

Local retail & services

₹20,000–₹55,000 a month, with Nepali alongside Bengali and Hindi rather than Bengali alone.

Digital marketing in Siliguri

Because it describes the municipal area rather than the market. B2B before B2C, which surprises most people. The highest-value audience is distributors, transporters, tea brokers and wholesalers — almost every national FMCG, pharma and consumer-durables brand routes its Northeast supply through this city. Consumer retail is real but secondary, and a meaningful share of it is Bhutanese and Nepali nationals rather than Indian residents.

Not Bengali alone. Nepali is a major working language here alongside Bengali and Hindi, and a substantial share of retail and medical customers are Nepali and Bhutanese nationals. Bengali-only creative misses a large slice of the market, and treating Siliguri as a North Bengal town like Malda or Murshidabad is a category error — commercially it faces the hills and the Northeast.

As a transit stop rather than a destination, because that is what it is. Siliguri's tourism revenue is overwhelmingly transit revenue — people sleep one night on the way to Darjeeling, Sikkim or Bhutan and leave. That rewards last-minute, mobile-first, intent-based advertising and clear proximity to NJP and Bagdogra, rather than brand-building or long-lead destination marketing.

Genuinely, and it works the opposite way to tourism. The private hospital cluster here serves Sikkim, Bhutan, Nepal and the Dooars, where tertiary care is scarce, and those patients plan ahead and travel deliberately. It is a considered-purchase market with an international catchment, which means content answering distance, cost, documentation and language support does most of the work.

Travel and tour operators run ₹50,000–₹1,50,000 a month targeted at the metros with heavy season weighting; healthcare ₹40,000–₹1,20,000 across an international catchment; distribution B2B ₹30,000–₹80,000 aimed at brands planning Northeast supply; local retail ₹20,000–₹55,000. In their words

People who pay us,
on the record

The best lead generation company in Delhi I have ever worked with. Their campaigns brought a consistent flow of high-quality leads for our herbal products.
Shivam Pal Founder — Shubh Amrit Veda
Getting quality leads online was something I struggled with for a long time. Then I came across Mind Your Ads, and things really started to improve. Their team redesigned my website, worked on the SEO, and set up PPC campaigns that actually brought in genuine enquiries and customers. What I liked most was that I could actually see the difference in the results, rather than just hearing promises. If you're looking for a digital marketing agency that understands your business and focuses on real growth, I’d definitely recommend Mind Your Ads.
Humaira Shaikh Founder — Skyline Research
I was looking for a digital marketing agency that could actually deliver results, not just show me numbers and reports. After trying a couple of agencies, I decided to work with Mind Your Ads, and the experience has been really good. Before starting anything, their team took the time to understand my business, competitors, and existing online presence. I really liked that they didn’t jump straight into running ads without a proper plan. Within a short period, we started seeing better traffic and, more importantly, more relevant and qualified leads. A professional and reliable team that genuinely focuses on growing your business.
Shobha Director — Book Vietnam Holiday
I’ve worked with a few agencies before, but my experience with Mind Your Ads has been much better. They actually took the time to understand my business and what I wanted to achieve instead of suggesting the same strategy for everyone. Their team helped us improve the website, worked on SEO, and managed our paid campaigns. What I appreciate most is how responsive and straightforward they are. They’re honest about what’s working, what needs improvement, and are always available when we need support. Overall, a reliable team and a great choice if you’re looking for a digital marketing company for the long term.
Cesar Duenas Sales Manager — Vrismeta Communication
Managing our web development and Google Ads for over a year. Campaigns are always optimised, reporting is transparent, and lead quality improves month over month.
Bhupender Singh Sales Manager — Stock Wyse
We hired Mind Your Ads mainly to handle our social media marketing, and the experience has been really positive. Their team took the time to understand our business and what kind of customers we wanted to reach. Within a few weeks, we noticed better engagement and, more importantly, an increase in genuine enquiries. Communication has also been smooth, and their strategies feel practical rather than just focused on likes and followers. If you’re looking for a dependable social media marketing agency that focuses on real business results, Mind Your Ads is definitely worth considering.
